Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah tentang kajian struktur suatu peptida antimikroba dari berbagai makhluk hidup serta potensinya sebagai antibakteri dan antijamur yang dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut khususnya sebagai bahan tambahan pada pangan. Aktif meneliti terkait pengembangan metode pengujian kehalalan suatu bahan pangan untuk sertifikasi produk pangan halal. Juga aktif meneliti terkait pengembangan metode untuk pengujian keamanan suatu bahan pangan.
